I was gifted this set of encyclopedias by my best friends mother! They're 1970s A-Z Children's Britannica! Even if some of the information in these is dated and things have developed through the years i will most definitely enjoy looking through these with my children when they need help with homework projects! 😁🥰

Well, Libby is currently too buggy to allow me to check out even one book, but I like their extremely polite and transparent request for app permissions! (I really wish I could like it as much as I want to but it's just. always. broken.)

(tagging the Encyclopedia Britannica bc I think it can handle my mean technology opinions)

This is one of the most gorgeous apartments I‘ve had the pleasure of babysitting in; however, it feels too proper and rigid.

Would you like a library that looks like this? I love the idea of it, but I personally want a cozy library that I feel has my own personality and I can curl up on the couch or the floor and just read. This feels like I‘m not supposed to touch it.

Soubhiville It‘s pretty, but it feels too arranged to me. It looks like a shelf at a furniture store. 6y
Kaylamburson Exactly! There are neat stacks of coffee table books all over the apartment. It definitely feels staged like when you‘re showing a house. @Soubhiville 6y
sammisho They need some funko pops, some fun book marks...😂 6y

Pamwurtzler I like the chair though. 6y
TiredLibrarian @Kaylamburson Two libraries: something like this for show, in the living room perhaps, and a more intimate, personal library, in a den or bedroom. Dream big! 😉 6y
Kaylamburson Ohhhh I like that idea, @TiredLibrarian!!! 6y
Kaylamburson Hahaha, right? And the chair did look comfy. @sammisho @Pamwurtzler 6y
MrBook Wow!!! 6y
MrBook @TiredLibrarian @Kaylamburson A library not for show behind a secret door/wall. Oh yeah. 😉👍🏻👍🏻 6y
Kaylamburson Ohhhh yes!! I have always wanted a secret library with trap doors!!! Hahaha @MrBook 6y

I‘ve missed a couple of posts for #OldCoolBooks, but here‘s my contribution for #bookspines. This Fourteenth Edition of Encyclopedia Britannica from 1932 has 24 volumes and was my great-grandfather‘s. I especially love looking at the old maps and pre-WWII Geo-political entries. So much has changed!

One of the best bookish gifts I've ever received. My husband's grandmother died three years ago; since then, his aunt has been sorting through all she left behind. Today we received two encyclopedias in the mail, one for each of us from the year we were born. Along with the books, Aunt P included this letter detailing the story behind the encyclopedias and a photo of my husband's grandparents. So precious. 💕 #bookmail

LeahBergen Oh, this is beautiful. ❤️❤️ 7y
