The world-building was great, as always, full of rich details. I also appreciated that the story touched on the realities of being a POC in this time, though frankly it shouldn‘t have taken 5 books to bring that up. I loved Annie & Nate as a married couple, but sorely missed Laura & Seth, who‘d made the last two books really exciting, but were barely in the background in this book. A cute series, though predictable & a bit shallow. ★★★☆☆.
