This book is about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The

Downloaded the audiobook from the library and was unaware it is marketed as a book for 10-16 year olds. What a fantastic autobiography. It covers his loneliness as a child, the racism he experienced, the civil rights movement, his friendship with Muhammad Ali and Bruce Lee, the coaches who mentored him, his constant pursuit of knowledge through reading, and his conversion from Catholicism to Muslim. A time capsule of the 60‘s for teens to read.

Just finished this biography of Kareem-Powerful! Inspiring! Soul searching! A tell-all growing up in the projects in New York to becoming a Milwaukee Buck! This very intelligent, shy, peaceful man shares his plight of racial discrimination, political views, religious conversion, and close relationships with Coach John Wooden, Muhammed Ali, Bruce Lee and others. A must read if you like biographies and especially if you like basketball-and I do🏀
