Never Anyone But You | Rupert Thomson

What a lovely read. It‘s basically a romance, with some gender boundary stereotype bashing, some Nazis and some great writing. I didn‘t realise until the end that it was based on real people- so spent some time reading about them- which was as interesting as the book!
Not heard of the author before, will be having a look at some of his other books now.
This was a pick - just pressed blurb by mistake 😁

TrishB @Cinfhen my local indie had it in their list to read whilst in lockdown! Apparently one of the authors other books is in Bowie‘s top 100 and Bowie did an art exhibition of the MC in this book! 5y

I don‘t eat a lot of chocolate, so hubby got me some books for Easter from our local indie that‘s still doing online orders 😁 looking forward to these.

This was beautifully written. Lyrical and touching. It made me want to know so much more about the Surrealist scene in europe. I can't wait to read more of Rupert Thomson's work.

My son has been begging me to take him to the bookstore. Tonight we finally took the youngers and gave them each $10 of their savings to spend. They were so excited- they were reading in the car on the way home! It‘s so hard for me not to influence their reading choices-it‘s all Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Star Wars around here right now. 🙄 #raisingreaders

SledgeReader @ElishaLovesBooks Hang in there with the older ones! It may take some time but they will most likely come around. My youngest was a reluctant reader and swore he was allergic to the Library. I‘m a librarian!! 🙃Now at 25 he‘s in a book group but he only reads nonfiction. Keep setting that great example and making opportunities!👍 6y

knittedgnome Awesome!! It's so hard to just let them pick but any reading is better than no reading! I thought my son would never read anything other than comics but, at 15 he reads so much! 6y
