pickThis is a delightful illustrated book of islands that don‘t exist. It includes mythical islands, those once thought to be real, and outright frauds. I really enjoyed this little trip around the “undiscovered” world.
Whoopsie! That‘s a bit of egg on the face! So far this book of islands that turned out not to exist is delightful!
pickThis is a fun read 🤓 It‘s an illustrated guide to historic islands. It manages to pack so much trivia into each short vignette that I almost wanted more. My favorite was the Sarah Ann Island off the coast of Peru; I had no idea that the US government passed a Guano Act in 1856 claiming all previously undiscovered islands that contain bird dung!! This is a great bathroom book or something for a bedside table in a beach house Airbnb!
