Sheila Rae, the Brave
Sheila Rae, the Brave | Kevin Henkes
2 posts | 7 read
Sheila Rae is not afraid of anything. She walks backwards with her eyes closed, steps on every crack, growls at stray dogs, and bares her teeth at stray cats. But when Sheila Rae becomes lost on the way home from school, it is her "scaredy cat" sister, Louise, who shows her a thing or two about bravery and sibling love.

Adorable. Sometimes even the bravest people can get scared, and sometimes the timid ones step up and do things even if they are scared. Cute sibling book.

This F picture book by Kevin Henkes can be used for RA and RT. Shelia Rae isn't afraid of anything and constantly tells herself she is brave and fearless. Her sister Louise is not like Shelia Rae. Until one day the tables turn. This adorable book shows that you can brave and scared too. In the picture I included the Shelia Rae in my life, my sister.

Floribelg http://www.timelessteacherstuff.com/readerstheater/SheilaRaeTheBrave.pdf The link provides a readers theater that aligns up with UDL 1.2 providing an auditory alternative. I encourage the use of ESOL 14 to read slow during RA. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y
