This is more background-centric but, again, totally necessary. My favorite moment (I think it‘s in this volume) is when Ayame comes through for his little brother, Yuki, during parent-teacher conferences. Their mother is not an ideal parent, aloof, neglectful, perhaps even abusive. Aya proves its never too late to be present, to show up, to make a difference in someone‘s life. Just be there.

I realized this is not my favorite genre of manga. I like the Zodiac part I just don't like the high school and extreme emotion part. It's not bad if you want something cute and light.

LibrarianJen I was going to say that teens eat fruits basket up and we can never keep it on the shelves! But if you aren‘t into YA, then perhaps it‘s not for you. 7y
