panI was really excited for this book and intended to read the whole series, but felt very let down. perhaps it‘s because i‘m not a kid anymore, but the re-telling of the story of David felt too paralleled. it was trying to be fantasy, but didn‘t feel anywhere near unique enough.

I adored this series as a kid, especially due to my obsession with King David‘s story. Be prepared for fish like swamp folk—a redneck accent is a must—crazy fun adventures and unlikely friendships.
—be warned that the first book “Bark of the Bogowl” May be a bit slow in the beginning.
