(Day 2 - #Babies)

*Babies is the word a couple of my girlfriends and I call pets—ANY pets. Thus I thought of one of my absolute favorite series, the “Richard Jury” series by Martha Grimes. The tagged book has got to be my favorite of all. In it, Grimes gives us Gödel‘s incompleteness theorem, string theory, Schrödinger‘s cat, and talking dogs. (I think she lost a couple of fans after this one.) I loved it, even though I‘m not a ⬇️

gradcat ⬆️ fan of that kind of thing, not usually. And, while I was looking up things for the post, I saw where Austria & Germany had turned three of her mysteries into television shows. I‘m so jealous of you guys that live there! Martha Grimes is pictured in the b&w photo in the middle (with HER cat, not Schrödinger‘s). The upper middle photo is a still from the TV show, and the upper left photo is a real pub named “The Old(e) Wine Shades.” (edited) 5y

gradcat @squirrelbrain I don‘t have any other kind, and my girlfriends don‘t either! We‘re barren spinsters! 😂 5y

squirrelbrain I don‘t have any kids either - we had two furbabies (of the feline variety) but lost them both in the last 18 months... 😢 5y
Cinfhen Well done, as always 😻😻😻 5y
gradcat @squirrelbrain Oh, Helen...I‘m very sorry. As I get older, it begins to be really difficult to move past these events. 😢 5y
gradcat @Cinfhen Thank you very much! ♥️ 5y

Pickpick

Well, this series certainly got weird for a second there. The last few books had been getting progressively darker, so I appreciated the change in tone, even though the ending was somewhat unsatisfying.

I only have three Richard Jury mysteries left now. What am I going to do for popcorn books when I'm done with these???
