I would definitely have this book in my classroom library. It would be there for any of my students to read about any of the 52 different women. If I was teaching a specific lesson or introducing my kids to a certain woman, I would use this book if she was in there.

This wonderful biography is about 52 women who made a tremendous impact on our world. Women like Sophie Blanchard and Kate Warne are given brief biographies of their amazing contributions to our world. This book can be used for DR as your students reenact a famous women‘s biography from the book. Students can dress up and act out their lives. Use this lesson plan to teach students acrostic poems and write one using a biography.

Kcompton2912 http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/lesson-plans/writing-acrostic-... The UDL principle 2.5, illustrate through multiple media, and the ELL strategy 18, use commands and directions that involve overt student actions as in TPR, can be met with this book, lesson plan, and strategy. #UCFLAE3414SU19 (edited) 5y
Estradan Having the students join in a DR is such a cool and fun way for kids to learn about these great women in society. I really like this book because growing up I didn‘t hear much about famous women in history, so this is something I‘d love to include in my class library. The acrostic poem can also be a great assignment the kids can do for a women‘s name. 5y
DrSpalding I love the idea of creating acrostic poems for famous individuals and I also like the strategy of dramatic reenactment. Excellent post. 5y

#AMonthOfSongs Day 6: #WithoutMe, your world would be a lot more boring and less awesome, say these amazing women. The book is divided across three major categories: Daredevils, Adventurers, and Rebels. I would have appreciated a short description of how the authors/illustrators came up with their categorizations: what constituted daredevils, who are the adventurers, and rebels?
