Without going into too much detail, as this is making its final rounds for #TheBreakfastBookClub #GroupA , the best way for me to summarize this is raw. Absolutely raw. The language is like a staccato and very different from what I usually read. At first, I had a hard time getting into the book, but I persevered, and I am glad I did. Explorations of boundaries and sexuality. I couldn‘t stop reading!

@Librarybelle I‘m afraid I‘m still sitting on the book I should‘ve sent you on the 20th. 😬 I haven‘t read it yet, but I‘m hoping to this week while I‘m still on vacation. Glad to be getting back on track with #thebreakfastbookclub! Books received @MrsGreen! I‘ve already read Between Shades of Gray, but I‘m looking forward to revisiting it and diving into Pointe, Claw.

Pointe, Claw knocked my socks off! Such a strange combination of a woman and an animal (bonus points if you get the 🎵 reference). Told in alternating viewpoints, we meet Jessie who is a ballet dancer and Dawn who is suffering from strange fugue states. Childhood BFFs torn apart, teenage angst, parental troubles, and deciding the future after high school are all included here.

I liked this book, it was different and not like the insta-love YA books I‘m used to.

Unexpected book mail today! (I thought I ordered something off of Amazon in my sleep again 😴) I believe it‘s from one of my fellow #TheBreakfastBookClub members since this was one of the books that we lost. Thanks to whoever sent it my way - I‘ll pick up a notebook before passing it along to @melyndarae

I cannot seem to focus right now! It's taken me three days to listen to 45 minutes of A Man Called Ove & I read the first three pages of Pointe, Claw at least four times, retaining nothing! And these are two books I'm excited to read! So here's my cat with the book I'm NOT reading. Sigh. Do I download my last allotted audiobook for April or surrender and watch tv?

Ok, so some parts of this weekend have not gone as planned (hello AirCast) but it has given me more time to read. 😊 On the plus side, I have finally chosen my #TheBreakfastBookClub pick for #GroupA and finished its corresponding notebook.

This book is 1 of 2 I‘m considering passing on for #TheBreakfastBookClub so I won‘t post much of a review here. (I don‘t want to ruin it for anyone else!)

I just finished it this morning so as soon as wrap my head around it a bit more I‘ll post a review on my GR account so y‘all can read it there if you wish.

Suffice it to say: This book has made me think.

I‘m starting book #2 today so I can make a decision on which to mail soon!
