The Caucasus has an extremely rich folk literature, almost unknown among English speakers, which includes myths, legends, magical tales, anecdotes and proverbs. An interesting collection of legends that are not widely known in anglophone literature. They give a strong sense of how people's environment shaped their lives. Some of the poems are really beautiful.
