Day One of learning counted cross stitch. Tips welcome! #audiostitching

FantasyChick Count twice so you only have to stitch once! Nothing is worse than getting into a groove only to realize you messed up the count and have to pull all the stitches to fix it....so I hear 🙄 4y
quirkyreader I don‘t do them anymore because of my vision. But a good trick is to use a pencil and mark the centre of the fabric. That way you can match it up to the pattern easier, 4y

CoverToCoverGirl Off to a very good start! Your stitches look perfect! I‘m with @FantasyChick count twice. It will save you tons of aggravation. 4y
BookishTrish @quirkyreader Clever! Thanks!!! 4y
BookishTrish @CoverToCoverGirl 🥰 Thanks - count twice seems like great advice! 4y
LeahBergen Always make sure you cross the same way (which it looks like you‘re doing). And no knots in the back! 😊 4y
BookishTrish @LeahBergen Excellent advice - thank you! 4y
dragondrool I always make a copy of the chart and color it in with colored pencil as I go. 4y
BookishTrish @dragondrool - that‘s next level clever! 4y
dragondrool @BookishTrish I don't lose my spot that way! Also, the original chart stays clean, in case I want to do the same kit again. 4y

Just got this in the mail, and really excited to dig in! From a first skim, I think this book is great for people who have already tried at least a little cross stitch/embroidery and want new perspectives, and especially people who want to dip their toes into pattern making. Can't wait to dig in!
