#LitsyLoveReadathon continues...

I have moved on to A Pattern Language for a bit. Celebrating 5 years of #LitsyLove (although my involvement does not go back that far) is such a good excuse to break out one of the books I've been meaning to tackle more thoroughly.

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Thank you for participating 🧡 2y
CuriousG @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I didn't quite make all my goals, although I have so many pages flagged in this book, with facts to pull out in "Hey, did you know ... ?" conversations ? 2y

So it's been 5 years of #LitsyLove (although not that long for me) and I'm celebrating this weekend with the #LitsyLoveReadathon and setting my own goals, albeit small ones. Goals in comments ⤵️
@LitsyLove

CuriousG My 5 year TBR book is A Pattern Language. I've owned it for quite a while (and was on my TBR for years before that) and chipped away at a few sections, but I want to spend at least an hour going through it and finding a few random facts that I love and can repeat at random moments. 2y
CuriousG My other goals are to read at least 1 more short story from "Lesser Known Monsters of the 21st Century", as well as get at least 20-30 more pages of "A Tree Grows In Brooklyn" read. 2y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Woohoo 🎉 📚🎉🎊📚👍🏻🎊 2y

🤣🤣🤣 Could not be more true. Was laying on the couch trying to decide what unread book to grab off my shelf, right next to the box of recently purchased books that just arrived

Pickpick

I think this is a book loved by certain types of people. I am one of those people. It captures many of my favorite “things” (in a broad sense). These things include: consideration of how items are placed, curiosity about the underlying meaning of certain actions, organization, lists...and on and on. He even had printed in bold what was most important in each chapter. (Photo is in perfect pattern language)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When trees are planted or pruned without regard for the special places they can create, they are as good as dead for the people who need them. Trees have a deep and crucial meaning to human beings...They provide a sense of beauty and peace.

peacegypsy Beautiful prose! 7y

We came from water; our bodies are largely water; and water plays a fundamental role in our psychology. We need constant access to water, all around us...

monalyisha I love this quote... but this looks like an intense book! 😮 7y

THIS BOOK, recommended by Gretchen Rubin, is magnificent! I can‘t even explain it well but it is so fascinating; (I think) the idea is that there is a certain number (253) of specific patterns of the way things need to be arranged in order for humans to live healthily, physically and psychologically. I want to think its a joke but the authors are dead serious and their points make sense. Yes,
I am way off in nerd land where I am most happy
