A good read, written in a spare, direct style. The author deftly develops the characters, even making minor ones believable. He is especially good at capturing dialogue. I was hearing in my mind the voices of the characters within the first page or two.

This is yet another great installment of the Andy Carpenter series! A kidnapped dog and infant lie at the heart of this case and as usual the scope of the plot takes some surprising twists and turns! A quick read that leaves me excited to start the next book in the series!! #DogsOfLitsy

This one feels more like it‘s gone back to the formula I like. I hope to read more in the future, as he did mail in his forms.

I was smiling and laughing (and getting cute side glances from my husband) within the first few pages of this book. So far it's been a good, easy read.

"She asks me to hold while she goes to find it. It takes a few minutes, during which Laurie asks me what's going on. 'She's trying to find the address,' I say. 'She's a big fan.'

'She's an address fan?' Laurie asks.

'No, a Carpenter fan, of the Andy variety. She worships me.'

Laurie shakes her head. 'That is one strange cult.' "

Had a 10-hour drive back from vacation yesterday, made bearable with Andy Carpenter's snark and Grover Gardner's voice to bring it to life. I always enjoys these listens - they aren't complex, but you can't figure them out either. Plus, author David Rosenfelt's Facebook posts crack me up. It's the wit, I tell ya! And I don't even like dogs!
