Remember to look back at your genre quick guide for help with how to classify your genres. 3āļø¸ I‘ve never been a big fan of Skippyjon Jones and this book is part of the reason why. I love the imagination, the hyperactive cat, and the illustrations. But the story always seems lacking to me. This is not lost in Space, it‘s lost in Spice because Mars is made of chili powder. I can not exactly explain my dislike, all I can say is I rarely finish a book because it feels like it drones on and never gets to the point.

LibrarianRyan @Kar2b I know lots and lots of kids who love them. One of the ladies I used to work would do various accents and I loved it. I'm just not into these books. Maybe because I'm not a cat person? Who knows. 7y

DrSpalding I‘m glad you were intrigued by this author and her fun books about a Siamese cat that thinks it‘s a Chihuahua. Add a web resource. Look specifically to her website. Students thoroughly enjoy these books as often times they include Spanish text as well. This book could be a book shared during a science lesson about our solar system. 7y

This character is one of my favorites! In this story Skippy Jon Jones, gets lost in spice, yes SPICE! He pours some red spice onto his bed and blasts off into space. The Skippy Jon books include spanish phrases so they would be perfect for a RT with ESOL learners.
