Shouldn't have finished this in public 😭😭 Cousins Woodrow and Gypsy spend a tumultuous year getting to know one another better after Belle, Woodrow's mother, goes missing. Gypsy faces her demons and they both learn that parents don't always know how to cope with life's misdealings.

Working on this for #AppalachianNoir for #Booked2021. My reluctant reader 12 year old has been telling me about it over the last few months as they read it in school. He absolutely loved it and I'll read ANYTHING to help him think reading is fun! We agreed to discuss our favorite parts when I'm done. 😁

ElleSkel I can‘t love this enough! 4y
IamIamIam @ElleSkel 💜💜 Thank you!!! He's kind of the lone wolf in a family of readers so we're always trying to help out where we can. I have no problems jumping into a great book he enjoyed! I think he said they're reading The Giver next and I told him I'll be happy to read along with him! 😁 4y
ElleSkel That is so cool! Hopefully he loves it and you can read all the books in the series! 4y
IamIamIam @ElleSkel 😁😁😁 That would be awesome! I only read the first one, with the best intentions to go forward... lol, I got distracted in the library, though... 😂😂 4y
ElleSkel That is completely forgivable! 4y

Mehso-so

When Woodrow‘s mother disappears, he goes to live with his grandparents, where he gets to know his cousin Gypsy. They bond over stories and loss, and it‘s a decent story.

Next up for #BookSpinBonanza: Hold Back the Stars

#NutsInMay Book 29 ✔️

TheAromaofBooks Great progress! And you don't hear the name Woodrow very often! 😂 5y

Pickpick

One of my favorite books from childhood. Can‘t remember much about it though. I had to buy it again because my parents donated all my books to the library about a decade ago. Boo.
