Napoli 1931. Le stagioni si susseguono incuranti del sangue e della morte e la citt si prepara ad affrontare il caldo torrido dell'estate. Luigi Alfredo Ricciardi, commissario in forza alla Regia Questura di Napoli, affronta un nuovo caso di omicidio insieme all'inseparabile brigadiere Maione. Ricciardi ? un commissario fuori dal comune, un solitario, uno che non ama eseguire gli ordini che gli vengono impartiti e di solito fa di testa sua. Non ? ben visto dalla gerarchia fascista che lo controlla a distanza ma lo lascia lavorare, perch stranamente i casi li risolve tutti. In molti cominciano a sospettare che Ricciardi abbia un segreto, si dice parli direttamente con il Diavolo. In realt Ricciardi si limita ad ascoltare le ultime parole dei morti: pi che un dono, una condanna. L'estate del commissario Ricciardi vedr la morte della bellissima duchessa di Camparino, una donna misteriosa dalla chiacchierata vita notturna. Anche stavolta saranno le ultime parole pronunciate dalla vittima a far partire l'indagine che condurr il commissario, e noi lettori insieme a lui, a scoprire una Napoli riarsa e poco conosciuta, abitata da personaggi inquietanti che tenteranno di ostacolare il suo lavoro.

RealLifeReading @BooksForYears @slategreyskies @Laura317 it's an Indonesian layer cake (lapis = layer). In Singapore we call it kueh lapis and for some reason it's tradition to have it for guests when they visit during the Lunar New Year. It's got lots of eggs and the layers need to be each baked one after the other! I've not made it before but here's a recipe http://rasamalaysia.com/kek-lapis-indonesian-layer-cake/ which uses all-spice so that's a bit diff 8y
