Best novel in series so far with lots of twists and turns
Long haul reading 1
Starting the latest in the series. The next one isn't due out till July.
After four years of slowly working my way through the Falco and Flavia Albia series I've finally caught up. A fun read, but now I'm bummed that I actually have to wait for the rest of the series to come out one by one :/
Her new husband is struck by lightning, their home is half-furnished, and bills will soon need paying, but Flavia Albia is nothing daunted. Despite her dislike for Domitian, private informer Albia uncovers a plot to unseat him. This level-headed daughter of Helena Justina takes you through the twisty schemes of 1st century Rome, complete with unsavory characters and stinking fish glue. You'll be rapt - but mind the war elephant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This weekend has been a gut punch. I had a choice: 1) Clean toilets like a good girl; 2) Grab some self-care time. Being a good girl is over-rated anyway.
When you're a mom, sometimes your reading time is when baby falls asleep on your stomach.
I've been to Target and the library with the 7 month old while daddy stayed home with the 4 year old to build some Knex....now the baby is asleep so I totally deserve this book and this snack, right?!
#TBRtemptation post 1! Released in April. The fifth installment in the Flavia Albia series. A fan of the Roman Empire? You'll love this! Flavia's husband may be permanently disabled, so she is offered a commission to seek out a plotter in the Palace. The unpopular Emperor Domitian is far off fighting a war, and a false Nero is planning to take the throne. She must find the impostor before he kills her. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
On 19th April, I'll be leaving my job to go full-time, proper, scary freelance. What better way to celebrate (in an very Litsy way!) than an evening at Waterstones?
And I'd missed the Flavia Albia series altogether, so I have 4 books of catching up to do 😊
