Im conflicted with this book...3.5/5 stars
Ill have to better explain it in my weekly wrap up video.
The premise was interesting but i felt a little uninformed and lost for most of it. Its not bad but like...ugh i dont know! Video review on Sunday!

I've honestly heard nothing of this so I'm really curious to give it a shot.
First turnoff: best friend compared to a manatee. Second turnoff: squicky eyeball scene in which heroine is introduced to fantasy elements that make no sense. Third turnoff: Grandma has a thing for garden statuary and is in a coma upstairs, which also makes no sense. Hey, Mom is also dead, Dad is presumed dead, but I can‘t care about any of it.
I went to another book launch at Owls Nest tonight. A YA fantasy by S. M. Beiko called Scion of the Fox. Her reading was entertaining and I bought a copy to bring home 😊
I know the situation surrounding this quote is pretty serious, but I had to give a head nod to the pokemon reference!
#TBRtemptation post 1! #BEA17 edition (I found 1 more, lol). Slated for an October 17th release. The first in the new #YA #fantasy series The Realms of Ancient. Described as "American Gods" meets "Princess Mononoke". Roan's a high school student with dead parents & a comatose grandma. Her life was saved by Sil, the powerful Fox Spirit. The snake monster Zabor waits for her spirit-blood sacrifice to keep floods at bay. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?
