Last line: What are you waiting for? Go get em!
Complacency is the enemy, and getting started is as triumphant as crossing the finish line.
Life is a million choices, one million chances to go all-in...
None of us is an island. What each of us does tofay will directly affect somebody else down the road.
I learned a long time ago that if you ever consider quitting, its already too late. When things get tough-- and I mean really tough-- youve already quit even if you dont know it yet.
Nobody remembers if you cross the finish line bruised and bloody. Theyjust remember that you stayed the course. Dont get hung up on how ugly the race may have looked. In the end, all that matters is that you finish.
Real and important changes begin with small, courageous acts.
But life can be wonderful if you choose adventure rather than fear.
Swaddling ourselves up in our security blankets completely restricts our ability to take courageously bold steps.
Of course we dont always know whether the decisions we make are going to be life altering or not.
...fretting over our safety or future or even our health wont add a day to our lives-- bit it might well diminish the days that weve got.
This is a really important point to undestand: when you arent trying to avoid failure, fear loses its foothold.
First line: I was a normal kid as far as I knew.
Loved it like I knew I would. I absolutely love when you can hear that persons voice in their story and you know they truly wrote it. I liked Joanna's book better only bc she had much more detail about how they started, got together etc. but still great for Chip & Jo Gaines fans!
Book 179 of 2019
I love Chip and Joanna, so I think some of my good rating comes from that. The book ended up being a lot of rambling and getting off topic. There was some underlying good lessons but I expected it to be different. I think Chip has very interesting points of views on different topics. I wish that it didn‘t have the political pages, I definitely could have done without those.
This book made me wish I personally knew this couple! What a way to live life-focused on God and his family first and foremost. Made me question my purpose in life. Made my longing for God stronger. Made me want to join their team!
Chip's book is insightful, uplifting, and empowering. He truly cares for people and this world. He is hard working and it shows with all he and Jo have. I really enjoyed this book.
I‘ve been meaning to read this for awhile now!

I enjoyed this title more than I thought I would, even though I'm a huge fan of the show. Genuine and honest. The kind of book that is inspiring without being preachy.
I liked this book more than I thought I would, even though I was expecting it to be overall more humorous. Definitely best for fans of the show.
Chip‘s personality and business philosophy comes through loud and clear. This is a great book for fans of Chip and his show, “Fixer Upper.” There are also some nice details about his relationship with Joanna and how the business grew. I was expecting more funny stories of mistakes and goofs Chip made along the way, but they are mainly in the first third of the book.. Recommended for fans of the show.
Started reading this on the plane home from Colorado yesterday (12/26).
Good book & a cup of tea to kick off vacation. #planeread
