Sword Art Online Progressive 1
Sword Art Online Progressive 1 | Reki Kawahara
7 posts | 6 read | 1 to read
"There's no way to beat this game. The only difference is when and where you die..." One month has passed since Akihiko Kayaba's deadly game began, and the body count continues to rise. Two thousand players are already dead. Kirito and Asuna are two very different people, but they both desire to fight alone. Nonetheless, they find themselves drawn together to face challenges from both within and without. Given that the entire virtual world they now live in has been created as a deathtrap, the surviving players of Sword Art Online are starting to get desperate, and desperation makes them dangerous to loners like Kirito and Asuna. As it becomes clear that solitude equals suicide, will the two be able to overcome their differences to find the strength to believe in each other, and in so doing survive? Sword Art Online: Progressive is a new version of the Sword Art Online tale that starts at the beginning of Kirito and Asuna's epic adventure--on the very first level of the deadly world of Aincrad!

A great way to continue to learn more about the characters, Aincrad, and Sword Art Online‘s playing system after watching the anime. Even better, getting to see Kirito and Asuna together in a way that isn‘t so rushed. Humorous & gives you all the feels...especially tense ones...it is a game of death after all.

speljamr Should I watch the anime first, or read these? 6y
QuoteQueen @speljamr I think either watch the anime or read a different series first (SAO Aincrad was the original light novels I believe) or the manga. From the afterword I gathered the progressive series differs slightly from the Aincrad series and anime, though adds more at the same time by being a story for each floor of Aincrad. Mostly in that you see Kirito and Asuna interacting sooner. But if it‘s not important you know that, start with this! 6y

Kirito and Asuna must fight to survive the death game Sword Art Online has become. If you read the original light novel then you'll notice some changes in the storyline, but I assure you major events have not changed and they make it a better read! A fan of video games, especially MMOs, will enjoy this series. Of course my favorite part is watching Kirito and Asuna's relationship develop and grow into what I am familiar with from the show :)

The only difference is when and where you die, sooner or later, she'd claimed on our first encounter. I couldn't let her prove that statement.

I fell in love with the characters from the anime, the dynamics between Kirito and Asuna and the love they have for each other. And now I'm excited to find out more on how they first met.
