#JuneTunz #Hallelujah Maybe a tad quirky for the prompt but it was a long day & will be an even longer night to make changes & meet a work deadline. I saw my Monastery Kitchen cookbook, set out for a sauce recipe & thought about how I went through a monastery cookbook phase several years ago-Benedictine & Zen. I got *slightly* obsessed with the Tassajara Zen Center cookbooks-buying them old & new. 😬So Hallelujah for simple, seasonal cooking! 😆🍴

drokka I did not know there was such a thing as monastery cookbooks. I'm going have to look into this. I don't know why (maybe it's a Cadfael holdover), but I fell like they would quite modest and healthy recipes. 7y

I'm not doing well on my 2017 cookbook culling goal. 😬📚📚📚 @drokka Yes! 😆👍They are generally healthy recipes with simple seasonal ingredients, often vegetarian. I have found some great recipes in them. @ApoptyGina69 I've never been but stumbled across a cookbook at the used book store and then found more of the old-school ones. They have some great recipes. 🍴📚👍 7y
