I loved Following Atticus (same author), but was reluctant to give this one a chance because I knew it was a tear-jerker. I figured since I just lost one of my dogs to a brain tumor and I'd be crying anyway that now was the time to read it. I have mixed feelings. Ryan's writing is beautiful and eloquent. I didn't find the story inspiring or uplifting like many other readers, but maybe my reading was clouded by grief. I'm glad I read it.
