Please Will Someone Help Me? | Sophie Young

I am considering reading a horror book for a reading challenge (outside my usual genre). I liked Bird Box because it was more psychological than gory. Do you have any good recommendations for books that are similar? I normally don‘t read horror, so I don‘t know which direction to go. I will definitely abandon something that is overly graphic and gory. Can‘t handle it. Thanks in advance!

sprainedbrain You might try this one... it‘s not gory, but it‘s a psychological creeper with all sort of weirdness.

In a serious reading slump.... recommendations anyone??? I‘m in the mood for something that reflects fall/ Halloween season but just can‘t find something to catch my attention. PLEASE HELLLLLPPPPPPP

Marilyncjackson I don‘t have any book suggesting, but I have a suggestion. When I am really in a slump I read something that is not in my normal genre of choice or I read something from a list. PBS has the Great American Read going on. It‘s the top 100 picked books in America. Or you could google a book list or look on here and just randomly pick something. It‘s fun most of the time sometimes you get a gem other times you get a bail. 6y

HELP, #LITTENS!

Good news: I received a 3-month gift subscription to #BOTM from @24in48 !

Bad news: I have NO idea what I'm doing! How do I decide? Do you Google the choices? Do you ask Littens for advice? (Adding a book isn't in my budget right now, so I'm only picking one.) Is there an app? Or do I go through the website? Should I have received an email since it's the 1st of the month?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

swishandflick They're usually new releases, so I like reading the blurbs that the judges write for each selection, seeing any early reviews on Goodreads, and going with my gut based on what I usually like. BOTM has introduced me to so many great books I don't know if I'd have read otherwise. Enjoy!! 7y
