Everand‘s email about their changing structure is intentionally misleading. DO NOT give up your legacy plan until they take it from you sometime this year. They are moving to an Audible model and as such completely screwing us and likely bankrupting their company. They say they will still have an “unlimited” selection but between Google, fb, and a quick peruse of my saved titles- almost nothing is included. So disheartening.

KathyWheeler I haven‘t switched my plan yet, but I‘ve noticed everything I really want has to be unlocked. I‘m not happy about this at all. I subscribed to Audible knowing the terms, but I feel that these new Everand ones were sprung on me out of the blue. I may just drop my Everand subscription. 3d
BethM @KathyWheeler their content is not “good” enough to survive this. There‘s a lot of really popular stuff they don‘t have. I was fine with that bc as a person with a long commute quantity served me better and I could still find things I enjoyed. If I wanted the audible experience I would‘ve stayed. I‘m 100% dropping the service when they take my legacy plan. The horror stories are everywhere bc your unlocks are only good for 30 days. So if you 👇 3d
BethM Don‘t finish the book before the next 30 days reset you have to unlock it again! Tech support seems iffy with the credits and rollout seems to be wildly inaccurate with people losing functionality. Lots of reddits and fb comments about zero tech support to fix the issues and from fb it‘s clear Everand is actively hiding multitudes of comments. It was such a good product for so long. On the heels of yesterday it just makes me extra sad for book ppl 3d

KathyWheeler I saw that about the unlocks only being good for 30 days! 😳 My Audible credits stay forever. I‘ve enjoyed Everand, but this sounds like a dumpster fire that I‘m not willing to pay for. 3d
fredthemoose Ugh—I didn‘t get the ramifications until I switched. I think it will not be too big of a deal for me since I rarely use 3 of their titles, but I agree it was really misleading 3d
BethM @fredthemoose I‘m just not willing to pay Audible prices for something I don‘t own. 3d
Hooked_on_books This doesn‘t surprise me. They never truly were “unlimited” and I gave up on them a while back, but clearly they‘re getting even worse. I predict they won‘t last a whole lot longer. 3d
BethM @Hooked_on_books I agree about them not lasting. No one is going to pay audible price to not own the book and have it “reset” after 30 days. They‘re not really unlimited never bothered me bc I would only rarely trigger that unknown algorithm and that was when I was driving 4 days a week. Even shittier is that they‘re actively hiding comments on FB 😂🤦‍♀️ 3d
LibrarianRyan I now have to look into this. Interesting. Oh, and just FYI, i have been seeing and hearing that people who spent audible credits for books that should be there, are finding the books gone. Just in case you are thinking of going back to audible.

Hooked_on_books Actively hiding comments (or reviews) is always a bad sign. For a while I was using it fairly heavily, and after STARTING a single book (not even having finished it yet), they would already be restricting titles. It was absurd. One book! Their argument was that there were other titles available, which was true, but many were not. I really disliked the game playing. And lack of transparency. 2d
