Bailedbailed

Nope, sorry can't do this one. I tried, 187 pages in and I have to call it quits. I thought it seemed like watered down Tom Clancy, then I read the back where I discovered the author wrote video games (Ghost Recon & Rainbow Six series) based on Clancy's ideas. Stereotypical characters straight out of central casting, lots of talk about military equipment, more talk than action. I have the sequel to this, both are headed for the used book store.

1. Outriders/Jay Posey (military sci-fi); Stronger, Faster and More Beautiful/Arwen Elys Dayton (short stories about body modification) and The Screwtape Letters/C.S. Lewis (satire). Also listening to Funny Man: Mel Brooks/Patrick McGilligan.
2. Do the Saga graphic novels count?
3. I'm off Saturday so I plan to sit on the porch, drink some ice tea, and read...veg and decompress....

Pickpick

Loved this military science fiction book about a special ops team on a mission to uncover a conspiracy that could lead to interplanetary war. Excited for the next book in the series to come out.
