Finished this.

Pros: original story line & fast paced. It kept me guessing until the end of who the guilty parties were. Not all voodoo is evil.

Cons: racist dialogue where even heroes used derrogitory names. Maybe none of the characters were supposed to be liked? It depicted a voodoo lwa as evil although in reality, she is equivalent to the virgin mary. The end seems like the author was trying to rush to meet a deadline.
