A Good Debutante's Guide to Ruin
A Good Debutante's Guide to Ruin: The Debutante Files | Sophie Jordan
4 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
The last woman on earth he would ever touch . . . Declan, the Duke of Banbury, has no interest in ushering Rosalie Hughes, his stepsister, into society.Dumped on him with nowhere else to go, he's determined to rid himself of the headstrong debutante by bestowing on her an obscenely large dowry . . . making her the most sought-after heiress of the Season. . . . is about to become the only one he wants But Rosalie isn't about to go along with Declan's plans. Surrounded by fortune hunters, how is she supposed to find a man who truly wants her? Taking control of her fate, Rosalie dons a disguise and sneaks into Sodom, a private club host to all manner of illicit activity—and frequented by her infuriatingly handsome stepbrother. In a shadowed alcove, Declan can't resist the masked temptress who sets his blood afire . . . any more than Rosalie can deny her longing for a man who will send her into ruin.

1. The stars on my daughter‘s dress.
2. Sleep app said I was in bed for 6:15 but quality was only 69% and I remember a lot of restless election related dreams.
3. Classic milk chocolate.
4. It‘s been a year. Before that it was three years(ish). Whenever it bugs me too much.
5. Recommend. I love Carmen Rose‘s historical romance narrations.

Continuing my good reading day, I went on an #audiowalk on what felt like the perfect fall day. I‘m so happy to see the trees changing! It was so hot for so long I was afraid the Midwest was just going to skip autumn. Also, Carmen Rose is my favorite historical romance narrator.

Bailedbailed

This rating is not the book's fault. It's mine for not looking at what it was about before taking it from my friend. I fell victim to a gorgeous cover. But the relationship is a step-sibling turned guardian turned romance and that's a hard pass for me. Am I the only one that struggles with historical romances that use step-siblings/"cousins"/"uncle" figures as the love interest?

Seekingtardis I cringe every time an "estranged" or "distant" relation is introduced! 8y
Librarybelle Agreed. It is rather disturbing. 8y
CatLadyBibliophile @Seekingtardis @Librarybelle It makes me so sad 😭I know it's a different time/society implications and all of that, but I just can't get into it. 8y
