Friends Anikwa and James, both 12 years old, weather the challenges surrounding the War of 1812 in Indiana Territory.
Definitely into verse novels tonight! I was going to post a review tomorrow for #redsandwhitesandblues but I ended up finishing in one sitting 🙃 Not the most typically patriotic book for Independence Day, but this is a beautiful story not only of two boys' friendship during a divisive time in history, but it's a great story of humanity's relationship with nature. Another summer reading book for some of my students that I hope they enjoy.
Summer Reading book lists are due Monday--getting in some last minute reading tonight and tomorrow to make sure my choices are final 😬
