A great introduction to Giordano Bruno, and tells you so much about his core values even as a young man. Don‘t usually enjoy short stories or novellas but really enjoying these. Making me want to read the main series books.

Prequel novella in the Giordano Bruno series.

Not much of a mystery, really, more of a look at Bruno's background.

Since Bruno repeatedly swears never to tell anyone what happened, I felt there should be a framing story to justify this 1st person narrative.

Ready to go back on the shelf! As you‘d expect from a novella, the plot is straightforward; but it‘s a good taster for the other books, with the same eye for historical / political detail. Did the trick of getting me back into good reading habits after a lapse!

Feels like an undersell to call well-researched historical thrillers #cosycrime but when you‘ll happily read about dismemberment over a bowl of cocopops...
