Simon & Garfunkel's "The Only Living Boy in New York" is in my head today. Fun fact: this was one of the quotes I picked for yearbook senior year. ?

Many of my posts about the USA are focused upon the bits I don't like, ironic as those bits tend to be related to consumerism and capitalism, which arose in my corner of the world. Despite 'problems' (which we all have), when I go to my book and music collections, I'm reminded of how great US culture can be. Thanks, America, for Simon and Garfunkel to help me through the day ❤ 🇺🇸
#MarchIntoThe70s #Day22 #BridgeOverTroubledWater A day late but not a dollar short! This is one of my favorite ballads from the 70s, it‘s definitely a heart-tugger.The irony of this song though, is that the two men singing it were troubled waters themselves. From the start they had a rocky relationship, full of mistrust & jealousy, they ended their partnership just as they were gaining success. Both have since had solo careers & reunited for tours.
#BridgeOverTroubledWater definitely describes my family now, even though we tend to fight we will always be there to hold eachother up #MarchIntoThe70s @Cinfhen @Lizpixie
“And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence”
Lyrics of a favorite song came to mind for #Silence in the #QuotsyDec17 challenge.
