This was a quick read. I read it in one afternoon. The story focused on a group of friends and law students in the summer before their state board law exam. All the characters seem to feel a huge amount of pressure which makes me wonder why anyone would want to be a lawyer. The sentences seemed overly long at times, the author was very descriptive in his writing. The book picked up as the story progressed. This was an interesting slice of life.

Texreader The pressure people put on themselves in law school is intense. And the desire to go work in the "best" firm drives a part of it. I had a prof tell us: "be careful what you wish for." I went to a large but laid back firm for my first 13 years but when it changed its attitude to be about $, I left. I ❤️ being an attorney though and I'm at a great place now where I can focus on helping my clients rather than quotas. It's very satisfying. 8y
