Following on from SHELTER comes the second novel in the fantastic, action-packed Mickey Bolitar series from the master of the hook-and-twist. When tragedy strikes close to home, teenager Mickey Bolitar and his loyal new friends - sharp-witted Ema and the ever-charming Spoon - find themselves at the centre of a murder investigation involving their friend Rachel. Now, not only does Mickey have to continue his quest to uncover the truth about the mysterious death of his father, he also needs to figure out what happened to Rachel - no matter what it takes. Mickey has always been ready to sacrifice everything to help the people he loves. But how can he protect them when he's not even sure who - or what - he's protecting them from?

Book Two of the Mickey Bolitar series does not disappoint. Mickey and his friends set about to solve a mystery....actually more than one mystery. Great book told form a teen's perspective.

I really enjoyed this book, and dove direct to it from the first in the series. Loved finding out more about the people in the Abeona Shelter. But, I was very pissed that this book had Mickey being interrogated for the shooting, all while the cops were saying he was not a suspect. But they dragged his arse down to the station and did not allow him to have his guardian with him during the questioning.

4.5 Stars I enjoyed this a lot more than the first book in the Mickey Bolitar Series. Some of the humour you expect from the Myron Bolitar books was more evident in this book and you knew the characters better. I also think Myron had a bigger presence in this book and Mickey was not so against Myron in this book, so he became a much more likeable character. I really enjoyed the book and it set the book up for (the so far) last book in the series.
