Reorganizing my son's room and pulling out the "baby books" we never read anymore. This is what I've gone through so far--about halfway!

Reviewsbylola I probably need to do this as well. 8y
Vexingcircumstance I've been debating on what to do with my daughters books. She never liked her baby books and rarely lets me read to her even now. So, I try to decide if I could sort out and give away her baby books but I've decided to keep them all. We are trying to teach her sign language (she's non-verbal) and the baby books may be useful for that, I think. 8y
readinginthedark @Reviewsbylola I'm keeping our favorites in a box for a few years in case we decide to have another, but I'll be donating the others. They take up so much space! 8y

readinginthedark @Vexingcircumstance I'm sorry, that sounds like a tough decision to make! But I would say even if you can't read to her regularly, every little bit will help. Good luck with sign language! My son isn't non-verbal, but I've been thinking of the two of us learning ASL. 8y
Vexingcircumstance Parker has a lot of trouble using her hands and is non-verbal (she has a neurological disorder) and she has already picked up one sign she uses consistently in just a couple months of us signing to her. I think it will help her a lot in the long run. She's only 2 and may learn to talk one day but we think this will help a lot until then. Plus I also think it's a good skill for anyone to have. 8y
readinginthedark @Vexingcircumstance it sounds like you're on the right track! 😊👍🏻 8y
