From the present day. . . Applecote Manor captivates Jessie with dreams of hazy summers in the Cotswolds, the perfect place to bring up her children. But the house has an unsettling history and strange rumours surround the estate. . . to the fifties. . . When teenage Margot and her three sisters arrive at Applecote during the heatwave of '59, they find their aunt and uncle still reeling from the disappearance of their daughter, Audrey, five years before. Drawn into the life Audrey left behind and the mystery of her vanishing, the stifling summer takes a shocking, deadly turn. The bonds of sisterhood will be tested and an unthinkable choice will have a decades-long legacy. . . Step back in time for a mystery of breathtaking suspense - perfect for fans of Kate Morton. 'A haunting mystery about the secrets of the past, the bonds within families, and the hidden ties that connect people across time. A story to be savoured, The Vanishing of Audrey Wilde is a book I'll be recommending to everyone I know' - Megan Miranda, author of All the Missing Girls

Good. Kept me guessing till the very end, even though at times it was a bit confusing and disjointed due to dual timelines as it wasn't made clear which timeline was what until halfway through the chapter. Thank you #Netgalley for the free proof copy.

A nice read! Set in the present day and during a summer in 1959. #books #lovetoread

This is written so well you can feel both the heat of the summer in 1959 and the tensions of the present. The link to both stories is the disappearance of The young Audrey Wilde in the early 50‘s at Applecote Manor.

Eve Chase has written a beautiful, evocative mystery that will touch your soul a little. A brilliant, moving read

Absolutely loved this book! The writing was beautiful and transported me to the Cotswolds, England in the present day and 1959. A brilliant mystery that didn‘t reveal it's secrets until the end. I enjoyed spending time with Wilde sisters in 1959 and Jessie and her blended family in the present day. If you enjoy mysterious stories with a dual time frame you'll love this. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital copy.

This book sounded interesting but it struggled to keep my attention. The story centres around a house and events that surrounded it. You jump between the past and the present and this works I am just not sure the story was strong enough

nickimags I've just started this so I'll keep your review in mind. 7y
