UNEXPECTED UNDEAD BREAK-UP Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone, upset, and unsure whether Gabriel just ended their relationship without actually telling her. Now the children's-librarian-turned-vampire is reviving with plenty of Faux Type O, some TLC from her colorful friends and family, and her plans for a Brave New Jane. Step One: Get her newly renovated occult bookstore off the ground. Step Two: Support her best friend, Zeb, and his werewolf bride as they prepare for the impending birth of their baby...or litter. Step Three: Figure out who's been sending her threatening letters, and how her hostile pen pal is tied to Gabriel. Because for this nice girl, surviving a broken heart is suddenly becoming a matter of life and undeath....

Some #girlfriend advice from one of the undead self-help books in Jane‘s bookstore:

“Successful relationships are about compromise. If you agree not to bring up his undead ex-girlfriends during arguments, he should agree not to seek out your old human boyfriends and kill them.”

Today‘s #fruit prompt caused me to think of this book & how Jane‘s front porch is the target of a durian “bombing.” Having smelled it myself when traveling in Asia, I can imagine how smelly it would be smeared all over your porch. 👃🏻 🤢😱

“So, someone brought stinky fruit all the way from Indonesia to play the world‘s cruelest olfactory joke on me? How do I get rid of it? Burn down the house?”

GondorGirl I once brought a durian to work and broke it open in the workroom, because we didn't belive people who said how bad it smelled. We were so tragically wrong. And we paid for being wrong by having to spend 40 hours a week in a room that smelled like old custard and dirty socks. 🤢 3y
rwmg @GondorGirl but the taste is pure ambrosia of the gods 😋😋😋 3y

My least favorite of the 4 Jane books, but still a good time.

This is the 3rd book in the Jane Jameson series. I wanted a light read and enjoyable read and this series never fails me. I love the snarky humor of Jane. 4.5 ⭐
