I‘ve had this book on my shelf for ten years. I‘m irritated about that. This book is scattershot, and while the breadth of research is impressive there‘s really no depth to any of it. It‘s completely unorganized, and there are no useful conclusions drawn about anything. There are MUCH better books about vampire mythology out there. Best thing I found in this was the bibliography. Really disappointing read.

If you like science, history and vampires then this book is incredible. It really isn‘t kidding around with the stories; the accuracy, the inclusiveness and the scientific basis make this book a personal favorite of mine!!
