The End of Back Pain
The End of Back Pain: Access Your Hidden Core to Heal Your Body | Patrick Roth, M.D.
2 posts
Back pain manifests itself in many different forms, attacks without warning, and damages its victims physical and emotional health. Everyone suggests a different cure for the effects of a weak core: surgeons want to cut, chiropractors want to adjust, physical therapists want to perform physical therapy. In The End of Back Pain, neurosurgeon Patrick Roth, M.D., reveals that, more often than not, back pain is caused by a set of underdeveloped core muscles that control the stability and alignment of the spine that are not being used. He details a specialized exercise program to strengthen and develop those muscles to relieve, control, and even prevent chronic pain. The End of Back Pain helps patients view the body from a totally different perspective, and inspires readers to push their bodies in order to cure its maladies. After years of treating back pain, Dr. Roth has seen time and time again that a back that is not used to its full capacity is a back that is unhealthy. When we dont use our backs, we are not utilizing the core set of muscles designed to help us stay strong, increase stamina, and look our very best.

So this week I have been diagnosed with Scoliosis 😪
It's hard for me to come to terms that I will have chronic pain for the rest of my life but I'm going to try and do everything I can to make it bearable.

It's times like this when I just want to crawl into a book and never come out 😔

readingjedi That sounds like a huge thing to deal with. I wish you peace on your journey. 6y
MrsMalaprop Oh that sucks! My mum has just been diagnosed with it too. 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Aww. That‘s so tough. I‘m massage therapist and I‘d say it‘s not necessarily a life sentence. A good massage every six weeks or so could make a big difference for you. Let me know if I can help you find a qualified therapist. Or just answer questions. ♥️ 6y

JackOBotts I‘m sorry to hear that! I was diagnosed with scoliosis as a teen and had to wear a brace...not fun. Something that was therapeutic was swimming...low impact, but full body mobilization. 6y

Kaye I know it‘s difficult. You feel it‘s not fair. You‘ll get angry. You‘ll be sad. But you know what ? In the end, this can either make you stronger or weaker. It‘ll be your choice. You‘ll get through it. You‘ll survive. You‘ll overcome it. 6y
