Twelve Irish Ghost Stories
Twelve Irish Ghost Stories | Patricia Craig
7 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Theres nothing like a good ghost story, and the Irish have traditionally excelled at them. The specters which haunt these Irish ghost stories include massacred Spanish sailors, a silver-robed woman who plies her guests with poison, a mutilated peddler, a benign but icy embrace, and the devil himself. Twelve Irish Ghost Stories draws from the rich and varied literary tradition of a culture long enchanted by things supernatural, a land where ghosts and ghost-seers are common. Energetically inventive, and infused with a relish of the supernatural, these classic ghost stories still retain their original power to unsettle and surprise. Twelve Irish Ghost Stories is one chilling anthology no fan of the genre will want to be without.

#TBRBingo

And so l'm ticking Twelve Irish Ghost Stories and Murder on the Orient Express off my bingo card in a matter of days.

I don't think l'll manage to complete the card by the end of the year as l hoped. I know l still have a couple months, but new titles are joining these ones and it's becoming a growded reading schedule.

But it's fun and l'll do my best!

JazzFeathers @WhatDeeReads l'm enjoying the bingo. I'm happy you came up with this idea 😊 7y

So in the end l managed to sequenze in a truly Halloween-ish read before the month ended. I finished this yesterday night after it languished on my nighstand half-unread for nearly a year.

Anthologies are always strange bestseller, good stories and not so good ones are mixed together, though this one was overall good.
I liked the older story better, the truly gothic ones. The other were ok.

A little rest in the park before going to work. It's crazy. Yesterday was freezing and today is as if spring wanted to come back.
These two slim fellows are keeping me company and l'm greatly enjoying both of them.

maich @JazzFeathers Here in Slovenia was the whole day cold. And we have a funeral. It was a stressful day and now it's time for some good reading before bed. 7y

This is my first entry in the #readireland17
It's a very classic gothic story, but with a great, ominous atmosphere
