GatheringBooks i received island in the caldera as a gift from my students - along with resident tourist. looking forward to reading them. havent visited books actually for a long while now. 8y

RealLifeReading Not yet! And I don't remember seeing them the last time I was at Books Actually. Then again that was last July 😂😂 Definitely will be heading back to Books Actually during my next visit to Sg. Will keep an eye out for these! 8y

I had a nerve-wracking morning so I treated myself to a trip to the bookstore and a single origin flat white this afternoon. Thank you, @booksactually for these SingLit titles! Review copies always feel like such a treat. I said I didn't want to get too many copies because I wasn't sure when I'd be able to read and review them, but all of these looked great and I'm excited to read them! 📖📚 #SingLit

GatheringBooks @Chachic given how much we also spend on purchasing books, we do consider this our little pleasures. math paper press at one point sponsored 12 copies of alfian sa'at's malay sketches for my book club. that was truly generous. they do hound you though for the reviews. :) 8y

Chachic @GatheringBooks It's like receiving a gift every time.😊 Wow, that is pretty generous! I did ask about time lines and they said I can post after 30 to 60 days, and I also asked if Litsy reviews are okay and they said yes. I think that's quite manageable? 8y

GatheringBooks @Chachic that is why i stopped taking reviews from publishers - can't commit to doing full-length reviews. book distributor route is great, i find. greater flexibility. ;) 8y
