“dance, little baby, dance up high.”
The story is very visually appealing. The father is a fisherman and owns his own boat. He is excited for his child to see their first fish. This is a good family story for all ages.
Beatrix Potter is a fascinating woman and this book gave me further insight into her character, her ambitions and her true love of the natural world. In a lot of ways it feels like she was the David Attenborough of her time.
I knew she gave a lot of land to the National Trust but I didn't realise the full extent of her donation.
At the time of posting this book is available on Kindle Unlimited.
Delightful little biography of Beatrix Potter. While I felt that the author did perhaps like his $15 words a bit too much at times it still was a nice read. I knew a bit about Miss Potter but this helped full in some gaps about how she and her little books came to be.
Such a great lady!!
Easter reading!
#TBRtemptation post 2! The beloved children's author's life is explored with help from her stories: repressed Victorian daughter; thwarted lover; artistic genius; formidable countrywoman. From a young fairy tale-loving girl to a canny businesswoman. Photos and illustrations abound. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
