My 4year old is currently mid mermaid obsession. This book also has glitter on every page. It was never gonna fail really. Lydia Monks is a great talent, her illustrations are bright and bold. And as usual, Julia Donaldson doesn't put a foot wrong with this fishy tale of a musical mermaid who escapes from the evil clutches of Sam Sly to return to her beloved Silversands to sing another day. 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️

saresmoore @Moray_Reads The tail folds into itself like a bag, then the fin wraps around and hooks onto a strategically placed button, creating little straps! It‘s pretty neat, actually. I thought it would be good for all the traveling ahead. 7y

saresmoore @EchoLogical I know! She was hesitant about the swim top because the mermaid in the book isn‘t wearing one (strategically placed seaweed). The pillows are her “throne.” 7y
