When I was a teenager, I loved “bodice busters”; these were my two preferred authors. When my stepmother saw what I was reading she said, “I‘d rather you read these than get backed into a corner.”🤔 #WTF Decided I would revisit the genre as an adult; could not make it past the first chapter of either. 100% too rapey. Here‘s to hoping “romance novels” of the 21st Century are substantially more progressive.🤞🏼
pickThis is my #41 book for 2020 and most likely the last book for me to finish for this year. I enjoyed this book and it reminded me of the years I spent buying and reading historical romances.
I chose to read the e-book version of this "Beauty and the Beast"-type story, which is over 550 pages. That might seem like a daunting task, but the characters were enjoyable and the storyline moved along fairly fast, which made it an easy read.
Thankful to see a little bit of #nature from my kitchen window. If you could all avoid telling that rose it's November, that'd be great - it's doing a great job hanging in there, despite the gale-force winds! #gratitude30
