I'm one of many Littens in the southern USA whose area is shut down due to winter weather - in our case in TN, it isn't snow, but ice! For the first time in my 23 year tenure at my university, we have shut down for the week. Silver lining behind the COVID cloud - we're awfully good at providing students with online content. Thankful to have power, water, & internet. 👆🏻 is how you'll find me for the next four days (+ a book). Stay safe, all! 🥶

Jealous of those of you getting snow, when middle Tennessee has had nothing but ice. EVERYTHING is shut down due to freezing rain/sleet/ice - ice is lovely and dangerous. At least a four day weekend for all of us, & I'm betting it will end up being more. Which, of course, means reading time! 😁 Everyone be safe!

MsMelissa I hope it melts quickly! I lived through the Great Ice Storm of 1998 (impacted Eastern Canada, Northern NY, Vermont, NH, Maine) which was awful and not something I ever want to experience again. Stay safe. 4y
Amiable Ugh, my least favorite kind of weather! I‘d take a snowstorm any day. Stay safe! 4y

SaturnDoo I'm right here with you in Middle TN looking at all this ice @mom2bugnbee I am a little upset as I wanted the snow but not the ice. Stay warm and safe❤❤❤ 4y
mom2bugnbee 1/2 inch of ice is definitely worse than 6 inches of snow! @SaturnDoo We're getting snow now! Hope you are as well. Unfortunately, it's falling on top of that ice. 4y
SaturnDoo @mom2bugnbee Yes!!! We are finally getting some snow now too!!! We are pretty much iced in...we can't get our front door open now, and can barely get the back one open. We have about an inch of ice on our driveway, front porch and back patio. All is well here so far. Hope y'all are faring well too!! Stay warm and be extra careful if you have to go out in this mess. ❤🤗 4y

Pickpick

My #bookspin #MiddleGradeMarch selection was a very lucky pick. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Icefall follows Solveig & her siblings into a remote steading in Norway, away from the war being waged by their father the king. This book has berserkers, treachery, stories, and some self-realization. A good story for the older middle grade kids but also detailed enough for adults. I never once felt that a lesson was being down on me. @megnews @sblbooks @thearomaofbooks

These are my books for the #bookspin & #doublespin challenge this month. Since both are middle grade, I will certainly get through these two and hopefully more!

I finally managed to at least get my books in stacks... Rather than haphazardly strewn across the floor. Next step = get another bookcase ?

Has anyone read "Icefall" by Matthew Kirby? It sounds interesting; a suspense/mystery loaded with Norse culture and mythology.
