I haven't read Astro Boy yet, but I was quite taken with Mishima's autobiographical meditations on art & masculinity. It is time to read and reread these #booksbyasianwriters. #readjanuary Mishima is a masterful writer of international fame who perhaps overthought his position and committed his final act of harakiri to the great sadness of his fans.

ValerieAndBooks I have some Mishima books that I read years ago! His life story certainly was interesting. 8y
Hobbinol @ValerieAndBooks There's a biography about him I'd like to read sometime: 8y
ValerieAndBooks Looks good. I remember many years ago watching a movie about Mishima (not a documentary) I can't remember the title or even whether it was Japanese- or American- made. 8y
