This book picks up right where the first book ends. You get to learn more about Phoenix's past in this one. Some new characters are introduced in this one (good and bad). The minister and Gage are horrible people. I can't wait until they get what's coming to them in book three.
This one ends so abruptly that you will be dying to pick up the final book.

I just loved this book! Jennifer Wilson has wrote an amazing series thus far. She kept me on my toes in this one! Phoenix, like her name implies must find herself again after being tortured nearly to death for longer than I know I would be able to bare. This 17 year old orphan has gone through so much in her life and we finally get to learn a little more of her back story in this installment! 4 out of 5 ⭐ only because I am dying for more romance!

✨it's almost three am & I have to work in the morning, but I could not stop reading until I finished this book. Now, I'm going to work on mending my broken heart while I wait for the third to come out in September. 💔
✨ Phoenix, Triven, & Mouse are my favorite trio. I haven't gotten this absorbed & lost in a book in awhile. Jennifer Wilson definitely knows how to keep you wanting more while not predictable. Another great cliffhanger end

... The truth- wars were not started by the masses. Wars were started by a few men- men who could rarely foresee all of the consequences of their actions. They saw a means to an end. Everything else in between was merely collateral damage. And the rest of us- the ones caught in the middle- we are left to choose sides or bury our heads in the sand. Either way, we would be swallowed by a war we did not start, but were required to finish.

✨I'm almost done with the second book! The third doesn't come out until September and I have no idea how I'm going to wait that long. 😱😵

I read New World Rising and immediately bought New World Ashes, but while I wait for the book I am reading it on my kindle. Just couldn't wait to continue this amazing story!
