Fairly interesting read. I enjoy reading books or watching documentaries about the trials. While they were troubling, it is important to try to understand the mentality behind them in order to keep from repeating history. Aronson did thorough research and explains why the literature we are most familiar with (The Crucible, for one) are not entirely factually accurate but have some credibility to them. It was a tough read at times. 3.5🌟

I read and well remember this book, in my YA days, as an interest study of my own. The read is great and insightful, for an education of thoughts around what caused and had resulted throughout the Salem witch trials. - The illustration boxes per chapter makes a cool reading value bonus. The marionettes are drawn up from a box and danced around, ending in a grim replacement. 📦🕯

This brings back memories, as the first book I had checked out while visiting the Sutton library, some 12 years ago. I would like to give it an October reread sometime. 🍁
