The planet kingdom of Naren has fallen into chaos. With its King murdered by a creature who calls himself Death, a strange, black gash oozing darkness into its capital, and its allies abandoning it to utter ruin, all who stand in the way of imminent destruction are Lunrea, a young woman who is shunned for her race, Leachim, a prince who lets formality block the path of his heart, and Roary, a scholar who longs for a girl he cannot quite reach. To gain allies, Leachim and Lunrea set off into the stars to appease rogue planet kingdoms while gathering information on the organization known only as Collage, for which Death is said to work. As they battle mad rulers and violent challenges, they are ever unaware of the darkness lurking in the dormancy of chaos.
