Ms Naylor took me back to Brewster Place. To understand and forgive and hope for the men I had judged too harshly in “The Women of Brewster Place”. The characters and atmosphere are lush as bits of each man‘s life, each man‘s pain, are spilled out over the pages and streets of Brewster Place.

merelybookish I just read The Women of Brewster Place and wondered if this was as good. 2y
Nebklvr @merelybookish I haven‘t hit a bad one yet. Mama Day, Bailey‘s Cafe, and Linden Hills were good too. But if you just read The Women , this would be the perfect time for The Men. 2y

Expansion to The Women of Brewster Place. Oddly not as well read or even listed as in a series with the previous one even though it is the same characters.

Very strong testament to the power of perspective. Effectively makes several villains from The Women sympathetic or at least understandable. In one instance a POV character from The Women now seems incredibly naive.
